1. Description of the Platform

The IMPAWATT platform aims creating a staff trainings and capacity building program to enhance corporate policy towards energy efficiency, energy culture and sustainable supply-chain initiatives. The platform allows the user accessing tailored content as webinars, factsheets and energy efficiency measures database. The platform also allows exchanging energy efficiency related experiences and to perform some benchmarking.  Finally, in the monitoring part, the user can enter, visualize and follow energy related data and if wanted integrate monitoring data.

This research is based upon Article 89 General Data Protection Regulation and Regulation (EU) 1291/2013 on establishing Horizon2020. 

2. Technical data protection:

The web portal ensures an SSL encrypted data transfer to the IMPAWATT  data base. All user data are stored in strict compliance with the European and German data protection law on external ISO 27001 certified servers run by the company Cronon IT services AG. Server used in the IMPAWATT  project are located in Germany.  Regarding data analytics and data base maintenance at SEnerCon, only staff with a special authorisation has access to IMPAWATT  user data with signed obligation to confidentiality.  

The protection of personal data through the collection, processing, and use during the use of the IMPAWATT  is an important matter. No data will be collected without the explicit user acceptance of the IMPAWATT data privacy statement. Login Data to the IMPAWATT  platform will be granted only through the so-called double-opt-in method[1]. Data will be protected within the framework of legal regulations. Listed below are information about the type of data that will be obtained and how they are used:

3. Data collection and processing

The Cronon IT services AG automatically collects and saves information that your browser transmits to them in their server log files. This includes:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system being used
  • Referrer URL (the last visited 
website)
  • URL (the requested page)
  • Hostname of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • Time of server request.

This information will deleted automatically after 14 days. Only SEnerCon GmbH has access to that data and it is not assignable to any person. Merging of this information with other data sources will not take place.

In addition to that, for registered users the following data is also collected on the platform:

  • Data related to your company like name of the company, staff size, NACE code.
  • Energy consumption data of your company and other energy related user inputs

4. Cookies

Internet sites utilize so-called cookies in several places. They serve the purpose of making the IMPAWATT quality of experience more effective, user-friendly, and safer. Cookies are small text data that are stored and saved in your browser. Most of the ones that we utilize are so-called “Session Cookies”. They will be automatically erased after a visit on the IMPAWATT  portal. 

5. Newsletter

If you a user would like to sign-up for the Newsletter offered on the IMPAWATT  portal, we require a valid email address, as well as information that will allow the verification that the holder of the given email address and newsletter respectively, agree. Other data will not be collected. Users can always withdraw your consent to the saving of data and email address, as well as the shipping of the newsletter, at any time.

6. Use and disclosure of personal data

Provided that a user has given us more personal data than mentioned in subparagraph 3, we guarantee to use that information only for the response to your questions, to process closed contracts made with a user, and for the technical administration.

The data collected will only be used for the activities relating to IMPAWATT and the related projects EE4SME and EE4HORECA. This includes the processing for research purposes, dissemination activities and providing you with tailored content within the IMPAWATT platform.

The contact data may also be used to invite the you to a survey or an interview at the end of the above mentioned projects to assess the impact (e.g. energy saved, measures implemented and number of people in your company with increased capacity due the project) and improve the Platform based on your feedback. The national project partner may also contact you to propose free energy advises. Your personal data will under no circumstances be sold to any third party.

The entered technical data (as NACE code, energy carrier, high energy consuming equipment, energy consumption) as well as the position in the company will be used to propose tailored capacity building and staff training content. The energy consumption, energy saving and Monitoring data will be used by the consortium to assess the impact of the project.

You shall have the right at any moment to access, to rectificate, to erase, to restrict the processing, the right to data portability and the right to object, as granted in GDPR Article 15 -22. You can also withdraw the consent given by subscribing to the platform at any time according to GDPR Article 6(1) and Article 9(2) without any consequences. Upon request your local supervisory authority will provide you information on exercising your right according to Article 57(e) GDPR.

7. Right to information

A user has always the right to information about the data saved related to him, its source and recipient, as well as the purpose for collection. Upon written request we inform users about the data saved about them.

8. Links to other websites

This explanation about data protection applies to the internet portal of www.impawatt.com. The websites in this internet portal may contain links to other hosts within and outside of www.impawatt.com to which the data protection does not extend.

9. Children

SEnerCon GmbH assures not to knowingly collect data from children in any manner, or use them or expose them to unauthorized third parties.
